1981 Typewriters Works Maritsa 22 Serial # 22081025 1981 Typewriters Works Maritsa 22 typewriter, Serial # 22081025 Daniel Burgoyne's 1981 Typewriters Works Maritsa 22 typewriter. 2023-07-25 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Daniel Burgoyne: 1981 Typewriters Works Maritsa 22 Serial # 22081025 The original selling shop label glued on the carriage hints this machine was originally sold in Victoriaville, Québec.

This typewriter appeared for sale on Facebook Marketplace close to Victoriaville, and I got it shipped to me on the basis it was working well. It arrived undamaged but the carriage was hitting the left hand side of the shell in lowercase, which the seller "knew nothing about." If one doesn't type a half-page to try all the functions, how would one know it is working fine or not? It does need some tuming of the carriage height adjustment.

In my view, this is a clone of the the Princess 500 that was made is Western Germany. The Maritsa 22 was made by Typewriters Works in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, in addition to the Maritsa 11 and 12.

The typing action is surprisingly nice, but the carriage shift is heavy. The typeface is a Pica 2.6 mm. Standard QWERTY French-Canadian keyboard configuration.

Bonjour! I am from the region of Montreal, Quebec and moved to Ottawa, Ontario in 1992.

Amateur watchmaker and machinist, I love anything mechanical, hydraulic or electric. I have restored American and Canadian clocks and small lathes, milling machines and a jig bore.

Most of my typewriters have French Canadian QWERTY keyboards, with some exception for rare finds.
