Description:
Purchased locally (5 mins from home) from original owner.
It was made in Canada. It has a French Canada keyboard, which seems to matter a lot when it comes to associating a serial number with a year of production. Serial numbers for Canadian machines do not follow US-made machines. Serial number 6LTV 582373 and sticker number CB 303.25
This machine came in the ugly but functional brown plastic molded case. Edit 2021-11-06: the hinge at the back is cracked half way so this case is probably kaput. I might try a repair with a piano hinge.
The year of manufacture seems to be mid-70's.
On this model, the cover does not slide forward--it has to be pulled up and completely removed.
Pica 10cpi typeface.
This is a recent model Classic 12 with :
- Two Changeable-Type keys (with a "1" key)
- Un-jamming key (arrow with /)
- Power mini spacebar rat-a-tat-ting the carriage like a mitraillette
- Tab bar with tab controls
- Half-space key
- No plastic tips on the small levers

Bonjour! I am from the region of Montreal, Quebec and moved to Ottawa, Ontario in 1992.
Amateur watchmaker and machinist, I love anything mechanical, hydraulic or electric. I have restored American and Canadian clocks and small lathes, milling machines and a jig bore.
Most of my typewriters have French Canadian QWERTY keyboards, with some exception for rare finds.
