1970 unser favorit P-200 Serial # 2108868 1970 unser favorit P-200 typewriter, Serial # 2108868 Aaron Friedrich Lotar Rolf Klamp's 1970 unser favorit P-200 typewriter. 2021-09-07 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Aaron Friedrich Lotar Rolf Klamp: 1970 unser favorit P-200 Serial # 2108868 I red an article about the Nippo Typewriter Coorperation recently, and was interested by the Products they made, in the relatively short period of theire existence. So I stumbled over the article of Robert Messenger about the P-200, where itĀ“s beautiful Japano 60s design, even if it was described as a bad typer, instantly hooked me. Sadly the article made also clear, that the P-200 was a Typewriter you not stumble over every day.
But by the time I red all this it came to my mind, that the design looks somehow familiar, and that I have seen it a few times at local ebay.
So I surched and surched and found this. Apparently it seems that a Distributor in Germany, namely the "Kaufhalle" (Whatever Brand that is), imported a substancial amount of "Nippo P-200", and marketed it under theire own label "unserFavorit" (our favourite).
I putted the Info together from the garnish that came with the "unserFavorit" that I bought shortly after my discovery.

What I can say about the P-200 itself is, that it is really not best typer, and therefore no wonder that "Brother" made the race back then. But in terms of looker it really has its own style, with all the edgy chrome and beautifull details. ItĀ“s sad that it wasnĀ“t a bigger success, as itĀ“s really well made, solid and all metall. Maybe the uncomfortable opperation secured this specimen here from overall use all these years, as it has no signs of wear, came with itĀ“s manual, description for unpacking and still has the original spools. Look at the nice swirls on the top and imagine that they tuuuurnnn @@ :-)

IĀ“m not sure about the manufacturing date, but the machine was sold 1971 (as can be seen on the warranty card). Nippo seemed to be faithful in theire product, cause they left space for a lot more diggits.
