196x Olympia SG 2 Serial # 10738 196x Olympia SG 2 typewriter, Serial # 10738 Christopher Kesting's 196x Olympia SG 2 typewriter. 2021-12-20 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Christopher Kesting: 196x Olympia SG 2 Serial # 10738 It is a slimmed-down version of the SG 3 N and uses parts from the SM series, such as the paper support. It is just as stable as the SG 3, the frame is largely identical, but the carriage doesn't, although it has the same functions, it is mechanically less complex, but of course also has a centrifugal brake when tabulating and can be removed just as easily as those of SG 1 and SG 3. The factory sign "Olympia" on the back was not intended, because the holes in which the signs were usually riveted only have overpainted rivets, a clear sign that this would not be wanted, otherwise they may also be empty, but the holes are riveted, just without a shield.
The shift-keys have still spring cushing! Unfortunately, the serial number is a separate line, so that it cannot be compared with the numbers of SG 1 or SG 3.
I think it was a test series, but then they saw that there was no real chance of selling another typewriter class successfully between the SM and SG series.

I'm just someone who writes with a typewriter. I'm actually a photographer. I am not a collector!
