Description:
Found it locally, it was acquired previously in Almonte, Ontario, where it was originally sold by W. J. Green, Mill Street, Almonte, Ont., Phone 253(!) Box 592.
There is confusion in the other two galleries here about the serial number, apparently because it could not be found. See my photos below to locate the serial number.
This is a very nice machine, with an easy typing action, similar to an Olivetti Lettera 32. The carriage slides very easily and smoothly. This is a platen with a pivoting type of shifting mechanism.
Oddly for an Italian machine, the caracter spacing is not metric, but rather in inches, exactly 10 cpi in this case.
The transport cover can be turned over on ourr lap to hold the machine at the proper height to type, without the need for a table,

Bonjour! I am from the region of Montreal, Quebec and moved to Ottawa, Ontario in 1992.
Amateur watchmaker and machinist, I love anything mechanical, hydraulic or electric. I have restored American and Canadian clocks and small lathes, milling machines and a jig bore.
Most of my typewriters have French Canadian QWERTY keyboards, with some exception for rare finds.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Antares P59 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Antares Serial Number page and the Antares P59 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
