Description:
1911 Smith Premier Model 10-A. I purchased this one at an antique shop around 2003 for $45. It appears to have been used sparingly as the spacebar and the other keys shows no wear. Just needs a good cleaning and oiling to get it back in working order.

I have a small collection of both manual and electric typewriters (used to have more). I started collecting when I was in my late teens back in the late 80's. The first vintage typewriter that I bought was a Smith Corona Silent from around 1939. It was burgundy colored with keys that had a black background and white letters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Premier 10-A on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Premier Serial Number page and the Smith Premier 10-A By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
