Description:
1097. I picked this up at an estate sales for a very good value. I saw it in the photos before the sale sitting on the floor and could make out that it was a Smith Premier 10 and that was about it. Mechanically it seems in pretty good shape. The "d" (the lower case d key, since it has no shift) hangs low and does not press fully and I am missing the key top for the number 2. I think I can resolve both of these issues fairly easily. It is very dusty, but other than that, it looks good.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Premier 10-A on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Premier Serial Number page and the Smith Premier 10-A By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
