Along with the Maritsa 12, this typewriter arrived home for just 1 €. Half an euro for a typewriter is a good price, and for a Lettera 32 is even better.
At first I was going to consider it a parts machine according to what the seller told me. In theory this machine is hopeless, but I suspect it only needs good cleaning. The problem seems to be that the carriage sometimes doesn´t stop. I mean, it darts freely to the left, but if you push the carriage release it goes back in place and the machine works normally for a while again. If it´s a problem or making things go smooth I think I can deal with it.
There are other issues too, as the absolutely dried up ribbon and the rust. Even if this typewriter has been kept inside its case, rust has found its way into it.
Other issue: Spanish serial numbers. This one matches Ivrea numbers, although it´s Spanish. Does it make any sense?

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98.
Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter is the only one which is NOT in my collection. How ironic...
Things then got... complex. I moved from Valladolid to my village, and suddenly found myself with a lot of room available at home, so the small collection is turning into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
