1964 Olivetti Lettera 32

Serial #9317504

The right bolt and nut are missing.

"Lahkme"

My first typer of the millennium. Bought via Rakuten CREWBAR LAND online shop in March 2015. Shop believed it to be a 1960s manufacture (Ted Munk concurs) because the Barcelona serial numbers are non-standard. Anyone know the Barcelona serial number years? :-)

Great working condition. w fades slightly in upper right, otherwise wonderful.

New locally produced black ribbon produces great results although the fabric is a bit ruffly and hence catches on the ribbon guide, pulling it up and slightly nicking the leading edge of the page -- no big deal. Types like a dream! Bought from this ad: http://item.rakuten.co.jp/twinland/1403475-222/
Ribbon from Ogawa Shokai in Yokohama:

Case in good shape but no plastic dust cover.
Would love to find one of those and also a felt typewriter pad to put it on instead of the styrofoam sheets I'm now using!

Irregular typing sample more a function of my keyboard-coddled typing technique than any fault of the machine.

From Toronto Canada. Tokyo-based entrepreneur since 1998 and meditation teacher since 2000. Learned to type in Grade 9 following mind-altering lunches and still experience flashbacks while typing. Mother did shorthand and typed 90 wpm as stenographer, dad pecked out haiku on his old typewriter as long as I remember. Moved to thermal printing, 8-character display CanoWord Pen 24 in 1986 when my typewriter broke, then to FujiXerox, Mac and iPhone. Bought my first typewriter of the new millennium (a Lettera 32) in March 2015. Muscle memory has graduated to neural reboot--every moment at the typewriter brings back fresh memories of type-happy childhood and visions of literary grandeur. Use typewriter for inspiration/rough drafts and computer/iPhone (Scrivener/Evernote) for polishing.

This documents the slight paper jam caused (I believe) by the nonstandard ribbon. Worth it for the local support from Ogawa Shoten typewriter.

How she looks to me. Yes Camera+ iPhone app enhanced (Chrome filter I think).

Romanticised my appalling desk with a bit of phone camera fun.

Needed iPhone app filters to disguise faded print with old ribbon so replaced it with all black one a few days ago.

Shows it was made at the Barcelona factory (assuming that was the only Spain facility which I believe).

This left bolt and nut appear intact.

The right bolt and nut are missing.
