This powerful guy is still active at my family´s accountant office. In fact, it sees quite a bit of action because it works daily! The times of heavy typing are gone, but it still gives a strong hand when there are documents which can only be filled using this beast. They try to keep it in good condition at the office, so I´m glad to see a fully operative typewriter, with a good job!
The interesting thing is that this SG3 is Mexican. The s/n does not match with anything, and there are several differences with the German version:
It´s still a great typewriter, although the touch is somewhat worse than that of the German one. Apart from that, it´s incredibly accurate, and it amazes me how well the carriage advances. There´s also that lever at the right side of the carriage, which is like a brutal return lever. I don´t know how it´s called, but you feel powerful when using it. In fact, such a big handle must have an equally big reason to be there: PULLING IT!
Another difference is the keyboard. The Mexican one has a slightly different layout than the Spanish from Spain, and the touch control and ribbon selector knobs are also different.
To tell the truth, it´s been a good surprise finding this Mexican SG3. Now I understand why this is the typewriter of choice of Mexican government offices.
The date of manufacture has been corrected. Thank you, Joshua Beta!

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98.
Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter is the only one which is NOT in my collection. How ironic...
Things then got... complex. I moved from Valladolid to my village, and suddenly found myself with a lot of room available at home, so the small collection is turning into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
