Description:
Canon Typemate 10. This was a goodwill pickup. It is smaller than its Typestar brothers and has a smaller single use cartridge (which are also impossible to find at a reasonable price). It has built in software for kids to learn how to type correctly. The keyboard feels good to type on. Not quite a mechanical keyboard, but it at least uses a slide/spring mechanism. It's not a model m/f, but it's also not a terrible membrane keyboard either.

I'm a software engineer in the Chicagoland area. I've been collecting "vintage" vinyl, computers, mechanical keyboards and typewriters since I was a kid.
I enjoy problem solving and puzzles, so naturally fixing I fell in love with fixing and maintaining mid century typewriters. Today, we generally stare at screens throughout the day, but I've found it's very therapeutic to turn off my phone and fix some mechanical machines.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Canon Typemate 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Canon Serial Number page and the Canon Typemate 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
