1961 Olympia Splendid 33 Serial # 95-472665 1961 Olympia Splendid 33 typewriter, Serial # 95-472665 Kewin Sanfridsson's 1961 Olympia Splendid 33 typewriter. 2023-10-02 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kewin Sanfridsson: 1961 Olympia Splendid 33 Serial # 95-472665 Here is my first ultra-portable typewriter added to the collection yesterday actually. It is a German made Olympia Splendid 33 from 1961 (from the looks on other Splendid 33 here on TWDB and also the look up table). It was so clean that it amazed me even, usually all typewriters I get my hands on is full of dust or other who knows what but this one only needed some cleaning on the hammer tips and removing of Typex (you know that white glue/paint thing you smudge over a word to make it disappear on paper) on a key. The only thing that really did need a cleaning was the case but that's rarely exception. The only thing which is of note on this particular machine is that the left shift key and underneath on the frame is that it have gotten some sort of bite mark or a dent like something was dropped on in because the shift was a bit bent but I bent it back in shape. There are also a minor mark on the right shift key but that is easily ignorable. I look forward to really try this machine out because I have read to much good about it or rather the whole Splendid line of machines (33, 66 and 99). Hope you all will have a great day forward. Cheers!

Hi my name is Kewin and I'm a 23 years old from Sweden. I have a few hobbies like drawing and playing guitar but I do also like myself some project here and there which is where my interest in typewriters fits in. I have always collected things through my life but I did not expect typewriters to be my next big passion in collecting. I started collecting typewriters in the beginning of 2022 and so far I have 52 of them (3 of which is currently disassembled) . I find it really enjoyable to pickup a typewriter at a thrift store/second hand and starting to clean it up and get it to a working condition to the best of my ability and knowledge. (Excuse all the dog hairs in my pictures, I do actually try to remove the hair before taking the pictures. xD) Cheers!
