It was in bad shape, it had certainly been kept in a basement for decades, it smelled strongly of mold and had so much dirt on it that it was disgusting to touch it.
Luckily, apart from the paint and a few scratches, the car was in good condition internally and fully functional and had survived all that dirt.

I disassembled it and cleaned it thoroughly and with care, trying to do my best to bring it back to its initial splendor. At the moment the “shift lock” key is missing and a corner of the card holder on the carriage is broken, but luckily I have already found some replacement parts.

However, one of the two cleaning brushes is missing and, more importantly, which I was unable to find, the original lock. Without it is impossible to close the cover on the machine, does anyone have a spare? :)

Italian QZERTY keyboard (essential for me, since I type with all the machines I buy) and a beautiful techno font. It's a very first series from '59 and I want to continue to improve it over time and bring it back to the splendor it deserves. In any case, it writes perfectly, the feeling while typing is truly unique, now I understand why the Hermes 3000 have become so famous!
