Description:
I came across this delight of a machine at an antique store for essentially a song. I've never seen another one in person. It was covered in dust, the case wouldn't close, the handle was broken, and the feet had completely flattened. At least it had the metal spools.
I couldn't pass it up.
I gave it a once over, amazed at how well this paint work has held up, and openly wondering about the process they used to make such a finish in '27. It has a little wear, but not nearly as much as I was expecting.
I replaced the broken handle with a belt from my local Target, and liked how the brown contrasted the green of the case.
It needed a ribbon of course, and I also replaced the bushings to mount it to the base, as well as the case feet so it no longer slides across a surface.
