Serial number is 5475, should put it in either 1896/1897. Is missing the original space-bar, rubber feet. Needs an escapement wheel to be functional again. The other two things I should be able to fix.

Smith premier 4 typewriter. Serial number is 5475, should put it in either 1896/1897. Is missing the original space-bar, rubber feet. Needs an escapement wheel to be functional again. The other two things I should be able to fix.

The escapement wheel is missing a chunk. It does move but it skips a bunch of spaces(as you'd imagine).

The platen moved in reading position. Clearly this is the superior mechanism.
