The Typewriter Database 2003 Impact Toys electro-TYPE Electronic Typewriter Serial # XXXX-NA From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Brian Brumfield: 2003 Impact Toys electro-TYPE Electronic Typewriter Serial # XXXX-NA A toy picked up at Goodwill. I had to disassemble and repair the carbon ribbon assembly, and re-attach some of the plastic "springs" that connect the keys with the type bars.

Almost all plastic, but does have metal type bars.

Uses an electric carriage advance for space and key presses.

Has THREE characters per type slug, but no shift/fig mechanism.

Actual rubber platen. :)

Requires 6 AA-cell batteries.

I suspect that this is a clone of the Petite Excel that can be seen on Oz Typewriters.

I love machines, machining, creating things from nothing. Typewriters have struck a romantic chord in me, thanks to my oldest son, and I am working with him and the rest of our family to acquire, restore, repair many machines.
Our collection grows in fits and spurts - as the seasons change. We make a lot of acquisitions at estate sales, yard and garage sales, thrift stores, online, and through personal connections.
The machines that we don't want to keep in our own collection, we are selling through various outlets - Etsy, Square Market, and eventually on eBay - and unlike some sellers, we KNOW how to pack a machine for shipment! :-)
Brumfield & Sons Typewriters, at your service.
