Description:
"Lil' Dipper aka Sunny"
Darn the Torpedo (again)! I got this little ray of sunshine from Gerren (HotRod Typewriter Co.) in September 2021. It is sporting a brand new platen from J.J. Short and Associates in New York and has a new set of 3d printed feet from Septimus Clark in addition to a deep cleaning done by Duane Jensen (Phoenix Typewriter). The deep cleaning wasn't really necessary since Gerren had this baby all set and ready to go but I figured I would go the extra mile. This is more yellow than cream and seems to be a rare/hard to find color. This has quickly become one of of my daily drivers, thus making it one of my permanent residents in my collection!

I like collecting past technologies such as typewriters especially the ones with special/rare typefaces. There's just something about learning how things were made (& worked) back in the day! As of MAY 2024, I'll be revamping my typewriter collection here on TWDB.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Torpedo 18b on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Torpedo Serial Number page and the Torpedo 18b By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
