Description:
I spotted this on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and made an offer.
Had to make a few adjustments to it when it arrived, but other than that it works great! Very smooth action and carriage return.
Type quality is very nice.
The overall engineering of this machine is very interesting and, in some ways, unique.
The case was recovered at some point.
Update - 5/8/2017 - Had the platen and feedrollers recovered by J. J. Short. Very well done. Quieted down the machine a bit and makes it easier to feed paper.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Erika S on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Erika Serial Number page and the Erika S By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
