The Typewriter Database 1935 Erika S Serial # 516400/S From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Gerald Ambrose: 1935 Erika S Serial # 516400/S I spotted this on Ebay a couple of weeks ago and made an offer.
Had to make a few adjustments to it when it arrived, but other than that it works great! Very smooth action and carriage return.
Type quality is very nice.
The overall engineering of this machine is very interesting and, in some ways, unique.

The case was recovered at some point.

Update - 5/8/2017 - Had the platen and feedrollers recovered by J. J. Short. Very well done. Quieted down the machine a bit and makes it easier to feed paper.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
