Made in the USA from domestic and imported components. A word processor that takes standard Brother ribbon cassettes and daisy wheels. No instruction booklet, but a lot of its operation seems straight-forward. Unable to use the floppy drive however, with my 720kb 2DD (DOS) floppy discs.
I don't like the grey plastic much, however I do like the screen and the keyboard.
Typing mode is not as good as using my AX-10.

Perth, Western Australia. The best place in the world to be during a pandemic. But not an ideal location for a typewriter collector. My collecting interests shifted from mechanical typewriters to electronic. Theres something about the daisy wheel I like and there are more design variations than you might think. Still have few mechanical and electric typewriters. Running out of physical space ... ;)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brother WP-1600D on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brother Serial Number page and the Brother WP-1600D By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
