A Japanese Yahoo auction listing. This is an "as new" portable typewriter and has an English/katakana keyboard.
At the risk of sounding pedantic "Silver-Reed" is the name that is always (I think) hyphenated., whereas "Silver Seiko" isn't. Easy mistake to make, I'm sure I've done it myself. ;)
All I've been able to find online about "Silver-Reed" is that Silver-Reed (U.K.) was established on the 27th of July 1979 and continued trading until the 25th of October 1988.
I was a bit surprised by the years matched to the serial numbers - thinking these were early '80s typewriters.
The serial numbers suggest that "Silver-Reed" were around longer than "Silver-Reed UK", which was based in Watford in the U.K.

Perth, Western Australia. The best place in the world to be during a pandemic. But not an ideal location for a typewriter collector. My collecting interests shifted from mechanical typewriters to electronic. Theres something about the daisy wheel I like and there are more design variations than you might think. Still have few mechanical and electric typewriters. Running out of physical space ... ;)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Silver Reed 720 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Silver Reed Serial Number page and the Silver Reed 720 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
