1973 IBM Selectric II Serial # 26 2206852 1973 IBM Selectric II typewriter, Serial # 26 2206852 Liz Glenn's 1973 IBM Selectric II typewriter. 2021-05-30 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Liz Glenn: 1973 IBM Selectric II Serial # 26 2206852 "Dreamy"

I acquired this beauty in December 2018 from Clark Hinson. This is a dual-pitch Correcting Selectric II (model 895) that was completely refurbished with new sound insulating foam and refinished in its original color of Classic Blue. It features the all-steel carrier transport that uses two steel cables to move the carrier, instead of a nylon tab cord that later models used and with it being freshly clean, lubed, and adjusted, it definitely feels and sound brand new. In addition, it came with a new vinyl dust cover and a printed copy of the owner's manual. Mr. Hinson did a lot of upgrades to this blue beauty and it shows. :)

Just a "Typewriter Nut". I like collecting technologies from the past such as typewriters especially the ones with special/rare typefaces. There's just something about learning how things were made (& worked) back in the day!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the IBM Selectric II on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the IBM Serial Number page and the IBM Selectric II By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
