Thrust-action 3-bank portable designed by Wellington Parker Kidder, announced
and manufactured in small quantities in 1923 by Rochester Industries, Inc.
at 309 St. Paul Street, Rochester, New York, USA.
Kidder partnered with Alfred John Leggett, a Rochester banker, to produce the design. Originally, the machine was to be named the Midget.
Rochester Industries acquired the Leggett Portable Typewriter Corporation to resolve potential patent issues with Harry Bates.
Rochester also produced the American Pocket Typewriter in 1922, probably as a prototype for the Rochester.
