Posted on eBay as "really stinky" and with pretty rough looking photos I bit because I love these and it was way cheap.
The case was white when I get it and got me into a coughing a fit so that went straight to the curb. The machine was bagged in a trash bag and sealed and left on my porch for maybe a year.
Then I decided to hot rod it, so I took it all apart so I could bathe it, got grossed out, and placed it back in the bag for maybe another year.
Finally did the bath, it helped a little. I was going to flames but got lazy and decided the machine was a little to raggedy for such effort. It sat naked in my kitchen for several months while the parts remained on the oven in the cookie tray I had used to dry them out after the bath.
On impulse I painted the machine blue because I had a can of bright blue Rustoleum. I used stencils I had cut before throwing away the old sound insulation and replaced the insides with blue felt. I painted the ribbon spool tops orange like the engine blocks of old muscle cars.
I found a shoddy case cheaply, and now this crappy machine is a fun head turner. Pictures really don't do that color justice, it really pops. Closer to the picture with my flash than the other picture, but somewhere between the two.
Gifted to my mother.
