1927 Royal P

Serial #P46407

A beautiful blue portable from the second year of manufacture. Note the odd keyboard with a cedilla (as in ç), a macron (used for indicating long vowels), and a caron (the little V that can go over a letter). What language could have required these three signs? Lithuanian and Latvian are possible candidates but they don't seem to be perfect fits.

PS: I have gotten the interesting suggestion that the intended language for this typewriter is Winnebago. See the link to a Wikipedia article about this language.
