German made Olympia SM4 (I think), made for the Dutch market. It has a special key for ij and Dutch Guilders. A bit obsolete now that everything here is in €, but still nice and nostalgic.
The machine works magnificantly, although I did have to work a bit on it to make it work. The carriage lock was bent a little out of shape, blocking the shift key. When I got that problem out the way, everything that wasn't working perfectly before (margin release, carriage lock and shift), went back being just perfect.
After making these pictures, I had the platen renewed, because it was quite hard, and was making a lot of noise. The new platen makes the machine even more pleasant than it was, with its subdued tapping sound.
Status: Typewriter Hunter
I love to read literature, and was very curious as to how the authors I love the most, physically wrote their novels. That got me into typewriters.
