As I have learned through experience, these Underwoods are indestructible.
This one may not be operative right now (you can see the broken drawband in one of the photos), but I hope it will be. It´s a bit rusty, but it only needs time to be back into action. And I hope my uncle will dedicate some of his free time to this beautiful machine. I have secured this machine for him, and it´s now on the way to its new home where it will be well appreciated and looked after.
And I still owe him one more typewriter, but he´s asked for a Corona 3... Why? WHY?! THEY´RE EXPENSIVE!!!
--- UPDATE ---
Finally, this beast has gone to its new home and my uncle is enjoying it. I hope he finally decides to have it repaired because this excellent typewriter deserves more than being simply decorative
--- ANOTHER UPDATE ---
Refiled it (now correctly) as a 1921 Underwood 3. Big thanks to Ginés Rojas for his help!

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98.
Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter is the only one which is NOT in my collection. How ironic...
Things then got... complex. I moved from Valladolid to my village, and suddenly found myself with a lot of room available at home, so the small collection is turning into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
