I've had a few Corsairs, and repeated the same pattern with each: Buy, repair, use, bang my head on the desk, and sell. I swore off buying another until this Singer version came along; if I was going to keep one Corsair as a warning to others, it might as well have been a rebranded Singer.

It was no surprise that the typewriter needed repair. I bought it from a young lad who looked like he might have been a teenager a year or two ago, and no doubt he had come to his senses and was happy to be rid of the plastic plunker. Anyway, it works now, at least as good as any '70s Corsair ever will, which means I'm not inspired to use it for much more than typing out a sample.
