The colours are a nice break from the effervescent greens of my Olympia mob, but they're not what drew me to obtain this machine.

The poor chap who sold this on eBay didn't even notice what a gem he had, and I only took a closer gander at it when I noticed a label on the user's manual advising that one may only use single-colour ribbons with this typewriter because of the size of the font. Intrigued, I peered more intently at the photograph he'd posted of the typebasket, only to discover that the little beauty had a cursive typeface!

It did come in splendid condition - the first one I've not had to wrangle into photogeneity - and even the ribbon was quite up to a few more rounds of intense typing. Since trying it out a little (see below) I have changed it out for a blue one, as you will note from the type sample.

The case is in very fine shape - especially inside. It is all-steel (tested by magnet) and comes with a functioning lock and key.

My daughter has claimed it for her own purposes all ready. I suppose it's selfish to keep it to myself, and (like anybody would be) she's fascinated by the typeface and the fun of using it.

Some have painted backs to the carriage, like this one, and some are plain metal. I think both look good, but I do especially like the clean lines of the Coronet.

Now, what's this little rotary scale telling me? I have a feeling that it might be useful, and probably described in the manual, but I'd rather work it out myself. No clues, now! ;-)

I like the way these plastic end caps flip back for cleaning. Very thoughtful. Oh, and there's the UL sticker, too.

I feel a bit lost having nothing to bemoan or comment wearily upon. Even the case is lovely.

The outside could use a clean, but as I now know that it's metal underneath I am sorely tempted to sand it and apply a coat or three of black wrinkle paint. If I do, you will be the first to hear about it. :-)
