1959 Commodore Personal Serial # ZP-129757 1959 Commodore Personal typewriter, Serial # ZP-129757 Uwe Wachtendorf's 1959 Commodore Personal typewriter. 2014-08-20 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Uwe Wachtendorf: 1959 Commodore Personal Serial # ZP-129757 An interesting machine, even if only for the case it uses. In theory this Commodore rolled out of Consul's manufacturing plant right after the Commodore Professional I've also added a gallery for (683 units separate them to be exact), and yet it doesn't have Commodore-designed coachwork.

It highlights that serial numbers are not a chronological absolute. This machine may have been assembled and sold at an earlier date than the Professional by Commodore, it is a slightly different model after all, which means the Professional is a very early example of that case design.

Mind not my mutterings... I'm just mulling all of this over out loud. Excellent typer by the way - except for, yes, its rubber and escapement.
