1938 Hispano-Olivetti Studio 46 Serial # 179829 1938 Hispano-Olivetti Studio 46 typewriter, Serial # 179829 Glen Crookston's 1938 Hispano-Olivetti Studio 46 typewriter. 2019-08-21 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Glen Crookston: 1938 Hispano-Olivetti Studio 46 Serial # 179829 There appears to be no serial # table for this model. It is definitely not the Studio 46 of the 1970s.

If you extrapolate the MP1 S/N series, it would date to approximately 1950. Using the same method for the Studio 42, which it very closely resembles, it would pre-date 1938. I suspect, based on the construction materials used for the case and machine, that it was manufactured sometime between the late 1930s and before1950.

The body is cast alloy, most likely of magnesium/aluminum.
