1938 Royal KMM Serial # KMM 26-277A156 1938 Royal KMM typewriter, Serial # KMM 26-277A156 Crystal Bennett's 1938 Royal KMM typewriter. 2018-12-24 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Crystal Bennett: 1938 Royal KMM Serial # KMM 26-277A156 So, I have this neighbor... He goes out in search of nifty objects, and sells them in his store down the street. Neat little place in the Sacramento Delta area called Turtle Island Art Treasures. Once in a while, he comes across a typewriter, and I usually end up with it in my possession. Pretty nifty deal! This was an unexpected find, to say the least. The Royal Typewriter Co made these KMM's for one year - 1938 from what I understand, and this extra wide carriage is a whopper at 26". It is my understanding that this model was used in places like the County Clerk's Office for register entries. Unfortunately, this one has several problems, and isn't fully functional, but I hope to get it back up to good, usable condition with a little time, effort, and money that will doubtless need to be spent. For now, it is a great display piece, and rests in my living room.

I'm Crystal. I am a newspaper-published writer, Novelist-in-progress, blogger, former Behavior Specialist, and an Ordained Minister. I absolutely love typewriters, and am growing a small collection. I have raised five sons to adulthood, and yet, I can't keep potted plants alive more than a month. My husband and I spend way too much time together, but that's okay.
