1936 Woodstock 5 Serial # N449736EM 1936 Woodstock 5 typewriter, Serial # N449736EM Richard Polt's 1936 Woodstock 5 typewriter. 2016-10-17 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Richard Polt: 1936 Woodstock 5 Serial # N449736EM This is a serious, sober, mid-thirties version of the Woodstock, with a very restrained decal and paneling that hides most of the mechanism (without making it any quieter).

This machine has a typebar hood, even though our database records say that the hood began at 450000. That was evidently just an estimate. The hood keeps dust out of the typebasket and also makes the typewriter look more modern. It slides in and out horizontally.
