1922 Corona 3 Serial # 482880 1922 Corona 3 typewriter, Serial # 482880 Tyler Anderson's 1922 Corona 3 typewriter. 2015-03-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Tyler Anderson: 1922 Corona 3 Serial # 482880 A standard Corona 3 typewriter. This one happens to have the illusive rest key. For some reason, I find it impossible to actually type on Corona 3's. The spacing of the keys, the size of the keys, the heaviness of them... I don't know what it is, but I fumble at the keyboard like an inexperienced user who's just learning to touch type, hitting two keys at a time half the time, and causing a jam. All in all, it makes me appreciate my Fox portables even more, honestly. But that aside, I'm unsure of what to do with this one; I prefer to have machines I can actually use properly in my collection, yet here we have a machine which irritates me to such an end that I refuse to use it more. Oh well, yet another addition to the database at least. On an engineering note, I would like to say that its design for shifting is appallingly awkward. Between the Fox folder's, the Corona 3, and the Underwood 3, I would rate Underwood with the best mechanism for shifting, Fox the second, and Corona in dead last.
