The Typewriter Database 1972 Olympia SG3 Serial # 7-28855025 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Richard Polt: 1972 Olympia SG3 Serial # 7-28855025 This typewriter has an unusual keyboard: engineering? architecture? programming?

For a while it was used in a TV station, but I don't think that's the intended use of the keyboard. (Why would they need π?)

The typeface is Modern Pica.

While I don't love the styling of this typewriter, it has an incredibly smooth, easy, and precise action. The typing with a cloth ribbon is almost as crisp as if you were using a carbon ribbon.

This machine is currently serving as a public typewriter in my office building.
