1966 Olivetti-Underwood 21 Serial # 605433 1966 Olivetti-Underwood 21 typewriter, Serial # 605433 Taylor Harbin's 1966 Olivetti-Underwood 21 typewriter. 2020-08-30 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Taylor Harbin: 1966 Olivetti-Underwood 21 Serial # 605433 This has become one of my all-time favorites. I bought it at a Goodwill in Murfreesboro, TN for $15 to celebrate getting a full-time job. It was a little beat up when I got it, but that didn't stop me from banging out over 400+ pages of a novel before I had it cleaned and tuned up by Jones' Typewriter in St. Louis. The touch took me awhile to get used to, but now it's very comfortable and familiar. The only thing that distinguishes this from a Studio 44 is the body style and the key shape. I'm not very fond of the Underwood keys. My fingers can slip off the horseshoes if I'm not careful. Yet, having written so much on this one already, I probably won't part with it.

I am a professional historian and writer. I have been collecting typewriters since 2013, and use them for all of my work (novels, short stories, poetry, non-fiction, and personal letters). I have a passion for all things antique, but hold a special place for these tools. Some of my collection is up for sale or trade, so if you see something you want, let me know!
