1950 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5A201675 1950 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter, Serial # 5A201675 Scott Jones's 1950 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter. 2018-06-28 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Scott Jones: 1950 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5A201675 I found this pretty, little Sterling at a variety shop in Kittanning, Pennsylvania. I got an excellent price for it ($25). It came with 3 good ribbons, and a very fresh instruction manual. It's the cleanest machine I've found out in the wild, and fully functional (a couple of typebars are sticky, but I'll have that taken care of very quickly. It's my first Pica machine--I've been looking for those forever, so I'm quite pleased.

Hi there! I'm married, with two sons, 19 and 15, living in western PA, about 45 min. north of Pittsburgh. I'm in the clergy, so naturally I do a lot of writing, and find typewriters to be of great worth in drafting my various sermons, articles and lessons. I love tons of analog things, such as typewriters, fountain pens, paper books, and vinyl turntables--though I'm not above using their digital counterparts. I'm happiest, though, when I can work in my office, pretending I'm in a bygone decade. I'm new to typewriter collecting, with seven machines, but I've barely gotten started. Looking forward to learning from this community!
