194x Remington Portable #623716

Description:

Sighted at MTE, but I forgot what model it was and didn't take a pic of the paper table, and the serial number has no prefix - thus I don't know what Model it is.

Clearly a late 40's, possibly very early 50's model. Anyone have an ID for it? It's outside the range of the "ALL New" portables and the 1949 model, so I'm at a loss.

Striking appearance, oddly colored keys, neat teardrop ribbon spool covers, and the drab, grey case opens to reveal stunning red snakeskin-style interior. The carriage release/platen tension release levers are also very neat. Unlike any I've seen before.

I am a scoundrel without a cause, and my swank outshines the sun.

I am a casual Typewriter Hunter residing in the sweltering deserts of Arizona with a wife, three cats and about 40 typewriters. My main hunting ground is thrift stores, and I rarely pay more than $10 for a machine.
