The Typewriter Database 1945 Olympia Plana Serial # 175760 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Alex Sandler: 1945 Olympia Plana Serial # 175760 My first personal typewriter, a gift from a friend. This machine worked for decades in the Institute of Marxism-Leninism. It was eventually withdrawn and later given to one of the employees.

Body is made from bakelite, as well as the segment. Originally Latin, with German layout, it was (quite inaccurately) retyped to Russian layout about 1950. Some keytops were broken and reinforced with rings. See also the “ё /” key — it is reversed to match the typeslug.

The typewriter is now in storage due to the lots of issues.
